PetiteKnit has designed this adorable Storm Slipover vest junior for kids. The slipover is designed to have approx. 10 cm [4 inches] of positive ease and is worked in a texture pattern.
Here we knit Storm Slipover junior in Önling No 18 and silk mohair. This yarn combination gives the child a warm and soft slipover, which is perfect over a shirt or lightweight blouse.

Size guide: The Storm Slipover Junior is designed to have approx. 10 cm [4 inches] of positive ease. The sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-11) 11-12 (12-14) years are designed to fit a chest circumference of 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (75) 78 (82) cm [20¾ (21¼) 22 (22½) 23¼ (24½) 25¼ (26¾) 28¼ (29½) 30¾ (32¼) inches].
Please note that these measurements are only achieved if the correct gauge is maintained. If the intended wearer measures 62 cm [24½ inches] around the chest, you should knit a size 6-7 years. A size 6-7 years sweater has a chest circumference of 72 cm [28¼ inches] which in the given example would give the intended wearer 10 cm [3¾ inches] of positive ease. If the measured chest circumference deviates from the age guide, you can adjust the length to fit the person you’re knitting for. The same applies if the child is shorter or taller than average.

Gauge:
20 sts x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in texture pattern on a 4 mm [US6] needle
Needles:
Circular needles 4 mm [US6] / 60 and 80 cm [24 or 32 inches]
Circular needles 3.5 mm [US4] / 40, 60 or 80 cm [16, 24 or 32 inches]
Procedure:
The Storm Slipover Junior is worked from the top down. First, the back yoke is worked back and forth. Then stitches are picked up and knitted for the shoulders, which are later joined to form the front yoke. The front and back yoke are joined at the underarms to form the body, which is then worked in the round on the circular needle. Stitches are picked up and knitted along the armholes and neck edge to work ribbed edges.

ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.
- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.
- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
