Sizes: (Child)Adult. Width: (18)22 cm / (7)8¾ inches. Length: (20)25 cm / (8)9¾ inches.
Materials: Önling No 2, 100% merino wool, 120 m pr. 25 g. Color A: Light grey (grigrio 0), 50 g. Color B: Green (yarra), 50 g. Knit with either color A (grey advent calendar) or color B (multi coloured advent calendar) and there is enough yarn for either an adult or a child’s hat. However, it can easily be knitted in stripes, of the other leftovers from the advent calendar or in your own yarn remnants. 1 stitch marker Recommended circular and double pointed needles size 3½ mm / US 4
Gauge: 24 sts and 34 sts in stockinette stitch on needle 3½ mm / US 4 = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches. NOTE! The rib pattern is very elastic and is impossible to measure, so knit your gauge swatch in stockinette st.
Directions: Cast on and knit pattern in the round immediately. Be sure to cast on using a cast on method that is stretchy, such as the good old long tail cast-on over two needles. Knit in pattern straight up, divide the stitches into 8 equal parts and knit the crown of the hat with centered double decreases, for a nice star finish. The pattern on the hat is the same on both sides, so it works fantastic for hats that are to be folded.
